Dance Chance GSO
What is Dance Chance?
Selected Choreographers must commit to the next showcase one month prior to the showcase. If a choreographer cannot make the showcase, that space will be taken by the alternate.
Selected choreographers can submit their names again for the drawing three showcases after their performances.
Choreographers must make their “tech” time the day of the performance. “Tech” happens in 20 minute slots an hour before the show.
Dance Chance was created by Chicago DanceWorks as a donation based, informal dance showcase. Three choreographers present works of any style between 5-10 minutes. After the three choreographers present their works, the floor is opened for feedback or questions directed by a facilitator. The last thing that happens is a raffle that determines the next three choreographers to present at the next Dance Chance. Prospective choreographers will pay $10 for a raffle and a chance to be in the next Dance Chance. For the Greensboro edition, we ask to have at least 2 dancers in your works. This is not a paid performance, but each work will be recorded and distributed to the choreographers after each show.
Upcoming Shows
July 10th - September 4th - November 6th
Why Do this?
